Day 1 Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel. Night in Sofia.
Day 2 Sofia city tour, visit to Boyana Church, one of the 7 UNESCO Heritage sites in Bulgaria. Free afternoon and night in Sofia.
Day 3 Drive to Belogradchik, small town famous for its fascinating rock formations. We will cross the gorge of Iskar River, other picturesque phenomena. Night in Belogradchik.
Day 4 Departure to Pleven. Visit to the Panorama of Pleven and wine tasting in the oldest Bulgarian cellar. Night in Pleven.
Day 5 Drive to Veliko Tarnovo. En route, visit to Etara Ethnographic Museum near Gabrovo. Visit to Tzarevetz Fortress. Night in Veliko Tarnovo.
Day 6 We continue our trip to Russe, a beautiful town in the banks of Danube River. En route, visit to Ivanovo Rock Monasteries, other UNESCO sight. Night in Russe.
Day 7 Departure to Varna. Visit to Madara Horseman. Night in Varna, beautiful city on the Black Sea coast.
Day 8 Stay and night in Varna to enjoy its large sandy beaches. Optional excursion to Balchik Summer Palace and Kaliakra Cape.
Day 9 Departure to Burgas. En route, visit to Nessebar, a small peninsula town, UNESCO Heritage site. Night in Bourgas.

Day 10

Drive to the Rose Valley. Visit to the Thracian Tomb and Rose Museum. Night in Kazanlak.

Day 11

Departure to Plovdiv and city tour. Excursion to Bachkovo Monastery. Night in Plovdiv.

Day 12

Drive to Bansko, a small old town with relaxing night atmosphere. Night in Bansko.

Day 13

Departure to Sandasnki, a charming spa resort. Excursion to Melnik, the smallest town in the country and famous for its red wines. Wine-tasting. Night in Sandanski.

Day 14

Drive back to Sofia. En route, visit to Rila Monastery, a UNESCO sight and one of the biggest Orthodox monasteries. Night in Sofia.

Day 15

Transfer to Sofia Airport. End of the program.

This itinerary presents the emblematic Bulgaria: its rich Thracian culture, gloriuos medieval monuments, picturesque Revival towns, traditional crafts and products, healing waters and natural beauties.

 

Day 1

Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel. Night in Sofia.

Day 2

Sofia city tour and visit to Rila Monastery, one of the UNESCO sights in Bulgaria. Night in Sandanski, famous spa and charming small town.

Day 3

Drive to Plovdiv. En route, over-stop in Borovetz, well-known ski resort. Sightseeing in Plovdiv Old Town. Night in Plovdiv.

Day 4

Departure to Kazanlak. En route, stop in Koprivshtitza - old town with picturesque painted houses. Visit to the Thracian Tomb and the Rose Museum in the Rose Valley. Overnight in Kazanlak.

Day 5

Drive to Veliko Tarnovo, the Medieval Bulgarian capital. En route, visit to Etara Ethnographic Museum exhibiting traditional crafts. Night in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 6

In the morning, visit to Tzarevetz Fortress and the village of Arbanassi. In the afternoon, drive to Shumen and visit to Madara Horseman large rock bass-relief, included in the UNESCO Heritage List. Night in Shumen.

Day 7

After breakfast drive back to Sofia. Free afternoon in the capital. Night in Sofia.

Day 8

Transfer to Sofia Airport. End of the program.

Day 1

Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel. Night in Sofia.

Day 2

Sofia city tour, visit to Boyana Church, one of the 7 UNESCO sights in Bulgaria. Free afternoon and night in Sofia.

Day 3

Departure to Plovidv. En route, visit to Rila Monastery, the most famous Bulgarian UNESCO sight. Over-stop in Borovetz Resort. Night in Plovdiv.

Day 4

Plovdiv city tour and visit to Bachkovo Monastery in the morning. Drive to the Black Sea coast. Night in Burgas, the second largest city on the seaside.

Day 5

Visit to Nessebar, a small peninsula town with picturesque architecture, included in the UNESCO Heritage List. Free time on the beach. Departure to Varna, beautiful sea town, and night there.

Day 6

Varna city-tour. Full-day excursion to the Summer Palace in Balchik, its rich botanic garden & cactus collection and Kaliakra Cape. Overnight in Varna.

Day 7

Free morning in Varna. Departure to Shoumen. En route, visit to Madara Horseman, a huge rock bass-relief, an important UNESCO sight and Tombul Mosque, the largest one in Bulgaria. Night in Shumen.

Day 8

Drive to Veliko Tarnovo after breakfast. En route, visit to Arbanassi, a small village famous for its precious medieval frescoes. Tarnovo city-tour including Tzarevetz Fortress. Night in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 9

Drive back to Sofia. En route, visit to Etara, an open-air museum of the Bulgarian crafts. After crossing the Balkan Mountain, we will visit Koprivshtitza, a revival town with beautiful painted houses. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 10

Transfer to Sofia Airport. End of the program.
