The Rila Mountain resort Borovets is the paradise
for skiers on all levels - champions, experienced skiers, amateurs and just beginners will
really enjoy this perfectly located resort with over 40 km of ski runs, some of them
equipped for night skiing. Former professional skiers are now instructors at the Ski
Schools giving lessons individually or in groups. Special courses are organized for
children. The resort offers a wide choice of accommodation in confortable 2, 3 and 4 star
hotels and two holiday villages.
The Rhodopi Mountain resort Pamporovo
is the southernmost ski resort in Europe, and thus the sunniest. It is said that the
mytihical singer Orpheus came form here. The resort offers skiing and cross-country skiing
for beginners to advanced skiers. The most difficult runs are a challange for any
experienced skier. One can enjoy the hospitality of a 3 star holiday village or any hotel
in Pamporovo or pensions in the sorrounding villages.
The Pirin Mountain town Bansko
is the newest international ski centre. Bansko is located at 10 km from the ski runs, at
the foot of Pirin, a mountain included in the World Natural Heritage List. The skiing area
stretches from 900m to 2900m and has good lift infrastructure. You can choose from the
many 2, 3 and 4 star hotels and pensions. The evening and night entertainments, the local
cuisine and folklore will really enchant you.
The Vitosha Mountain ski centre Aleko
is situated at half an hour drive from the Sofia center. Skiing conditions are excellent
and will suit all levels of skiers - from Alpine skiers to beginners. You can have quite
exciting experience on the steep north slopes with 5 runs for Alpine disciplines. The
oldest Bulgarian ski center offers very good ski courses for children. Being very close to
the capital you can use the comfortable city hotels.
